Digital Marketing and Business Operations Specialist


The King Street Brand Family is seeking a full time Digital Marketing and Business Operations Specialist to join our team at our HQ in Charleston, SC. Digital Marketing will be approximately 60% of the work, and 40% will be spent helping our small but dedicated team run day to day business. This is an excellent role for those looking to work in Digital Marketing, but do not want to spend every minute in front of a computer.

The brand family was founded in 2005, and operates 4 men’s clothing and accessories brands, with wholesale, online, and brick and mortar sales channels. Our team works out of our warehouse/studio located a short walk from our retail store, both located in downtown Charleston. The ideal candidate will be able to start in April/May 2022 and must be located in or near Charleston.

Our four men’s clothing and accessory brands are growing in both retail and wholesale channels: established brands Bird Dog Bay (founded in 2005), Collared Greens (founded in 2007), and new brands Beau & Tassel Hosiery (founded 2020) and Skiff Dogs Swim (founded 2020). Each brand is themed around traditional prep, with a focus on outdoors and sporting lifestyles. This position will be responsible for all four brands and will maintain a consistent, branded approach for each with minimum guidance.

Steve Mayer, the owner, illustrator, and principal designer of all four brands, has generated all of the graphic design for 15 years, and is now ready to pass along some of these projects. This new hire would now take charge of the digital marketing for each of the four brands, and must be hard working, passionate, honest and reliable. Furthermore, they will assist our existing team with day to day business; receiving inventory, packing ecommerce orders, occasionally working in our retail store, and related tasks.

Digital Marketing Key Responsibilities (60% of Workload)

  • Increase ecommerce sales through effective graphic design and retargeting strategies via digital advertising campaigns, e-newsletters, and social media
  • Create retargeting ad campaigns
  • Collaborate with our photographer to generate content - Interest in observing and following current creative and digital marketing trends
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Business Operations Key Responsibilities (40% of Workload)

  • Excited to work with our small but dedicated team, with a proactive attitude and self-sufficient work style
  • Occasionally work in our retail store, with a positive attitude towards sales and interacting with customers
  • Pack and ship ecommerce orders
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Perform inventory counts from incoming shipments


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Advertising, or related field is preferred, but not required
  • Basic Graphic design knowledge with programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., specifically with web design, social media graphics, and other media presentations
  • Enjoys analytics and has experience retargeting, building brand awareness, and engaging and retargeting past customers
  • Google Ads and SEO Optimization experience is preferred
  • Self-motivated; can complete projects promptly with little oversight
  • Capable of remaining calm and composed under pressure and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Familiarity with traditional prep and sporting lifestyles, as relevant to our brand messaging
  • Problem solving and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Interest in men’s fashion and retail
